Living in Indianapolis

The city of Indianapolis is the capital of Indiana, the largest city in the state and the fastest growing region in the United States. Nicknamed Indy, the city's historical past is built around government and industry. Indianapolis is second only to Washington, D.C. for honoring veterans. While Indianapolis is fast becoming a cultural center, it is still endeared for being the crossroads of America and the Racing and Amateur Sports Capital of the World.

Indianapolis Skyline

Indianapolis is emerging as one of the best cities for small businesses. To its credit, the city is growing faster than the national average and attracting people to lifestyle experiences rich in historical architecture, green development, diverse population, unique local cuisine, championship sports, distinct cultural neighborhoods, and sentimental traditions.

The city's downtown landmarks include the Indiana War Memorial Plaza and Monument Circle, inspiring the nickname, "Circle City." The Indianapolis Cultural Trail, a world class urban bike and pedestrian path, connects five uniquely distinctive cultural districts: Fountain Square, Indiana Avenue, Mass Ave, the Canal & White River State Park and the Wholesale District. The waterside Canal Walk welcomes local walkers, runners, bikers and is a prominent tourist attraction.

Indianapolis is home to sports legends, the NFL Colts, NBA Indiana Pacers and the largest single one day event, the Indy 500. The city is a sports enthusiast's haven and has a die hard reputation for competition. In 2012 Indianapolis will add hosting Super Bowl XLVI to its stellar sports accomplishments.

This year, 20 million people are expected to visit the Hoosier City. The Spirit of Indiana rings loud. Innovative civic care fosters future growth and prosperity. Come and be a part of the spirit!
